Yalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi (Balkh, today Afghanistan, 1207-Konya, 1273), better known as Rumi, was a Persian Muslim mystic poet.
He is well known in the philosophical and spiritual world for his profound phrases that lift the spirit, and also for having written the Masnavi, which is an amalgam of stories, anecdotes, verses and other literary material united in this book of great mystical and literary quality and influence.
His teachings today transcend both the Persian scene and the Muslim world, and his speech is well appreciated by people from all over the world.
