Thus, his style, using a particular combination of chiaroscuro or gloomy (a game that consisted of accentuating the difference between light and shadow), with a strong realism in the representation of the human figure, and a vivid use of color, came to define the main characteristics of the Baroque style in painting, as we have commented, possibly influencing Velázquez through his style (although it is possible that he did not see any painting by Caravaggio in his learning stage). In this way the painter Caravaggio, in his short and eventful life (with memorable escapes and murders, in addition to having been watered by alcohol), becomes one of the most influential figures in the history of Art.
