Island of lost souls

1932 horror / science fiction film produced by Paramount in a time when Universal dominated the genre with other films. In an approach inherited from H. G. Wells' novel The island of doctor Moreau, this island of lost souls represents a disturbing version of the plot, and over time has become a cult film.

Theories of evolution of Dr. Moreau, an expert in conducting biological experiments with all kinds of beings, come true to the chagrin of the viewer, who feels deeply moved by what he is seeing on the screen. To this day the postulates of this film are still in force. To highlight the exemplary performance of Charles Laughton as Dr. Moreau.

Although other versions have been made of this film, it undoubtedly represents a classic of all-time cinema, cinema in its purest form.
