Juan Galán

Juan Galán
Juan Manuel Carrasco Galán, better known simply as Juan Galán, is a Spanish painter, born in Barcelona but residing in and strongly connected to the city of Ayamonte, Andalusia.

In addition to his mastery of the brush, he has contributed to the vibrant art scene in Ayamonte. For several years, he spearheaded the local initiative "A Stroll Through Art," through the Taller de Arte la Escalera Cultural Association, of which he is a member. This initiative allowed local painters to display their work on the city streets for a few days each summer.

He has some pieces in certain local establishments in Ayamonte and is adept at painting animals and flowers; however, his greatest success lies in his depictions of Andalusian patios. With a fresh, loose, yet confident brushstroke, he has captured the beauty of these architectural spaces, adorned with abundant plants, and his work on this theme delights viewers.

Ayamonte, a city of painters, where Joaquín Sorolla painted some of his most famous paintings (for example, "the tuna fishing", which is currently located in the Hispanic Society of America in New York), is also witnessing the work of Juan Galán and his paintings of courtyards in western Andalusia, mainly.
