Is Occidental cinema disoriented?

Today, we're reviewing the comments that people, whether cinephiles or not, make on forums where persons talk about cinema; those comments that suggest that Western cinema as a whole might be lacking in ideas, in short, somewhat disoriented.
And we'll follow this argument and specify that people's weariness with new films and TV series is significant, in the sense that audiences these days don't expect a film to excite them, far from it; at most, viewers simply expect a film or TV series to fill just an hour of their time, then discard the product, never to be seen again. Long gone are those global cinematic phenomena like The Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter, whose releases lasted six months in theaters and were able to sustain viewers' enthusiasm.
This fact has several causes, of which I will only discuss a few in this article. Look, I haven't come to "save Western cinema." In reality, I haven't come to save anything or anyone, except to save myself from mediocrity and little else (especially if that Western cinema is stubborn and refuses to take advice out of sheer arrogance). One of the reasons, perhaps, is my own presence, that of the writer, who has altered the cinematic space and perhaps effectively, but only perhaps, has slightly disoriented the rest of the producers, or most producers, worldwide. Of course, ladies and gentlemen, the writer, as a film producer, is filling a cinematic space, or rather, has "stolen" (affectionately) the illusion inherent to cinema through his cinematic technique, the "solo filmmaking" that the reader already knows, and all that it entails.
And cinema, as we should all know, is built on dreams, illusions, desires; yes, ladies and gentlemen. And those foundations are unstable: a breath of apathy can cause an entire industry to completely crumble if those flimsy foundations we've already mentioned disappear. And it just so happens that the writer, Pedro Alonso Pablos, has taken those foundations and keeps them safe. The viewer needn't worry; as long as Pedro, the writer, is alive and capable, those hopes, those dreams, those desires are well guarded, and nothing and no one can tarnish them.
In short, cinematic apathy has indeed taken hold in the West, both in the industry in general and in particular (such as Hollywood and European cinema in all its diversity), and the average viewer doesn't expect a film or series to do more than keep them awake for a few minutes and then take a good nap moments later.
