Major exhibition on Zurbarán at the National Gallery in London this summer

The exhibition, sponsored by the energy company Iberdrola, is not to be missed. It offers a unique opportunity to see many of the great paintings by this Spanish artist, from the circle of influence of the Sevillian Baroque school, which also produced Velázquez, for example, and to which Murillo also belonged.
For this purpose, significant loans have been secured, some from the Prado Museum, which will complement the exquisite London exhibition this summer.
It is an opportune moment to highlight the figure of this painter, who primarily created works for clergy clients in the Seville area of southern Spain, as well as other commissions that went overseas (to the New Indies, the Americas). In fact, the timing is perfect, we would say; more than just "opportune", to introduce the art enthusiast to the Sevillian Baroque school, of which, as we have said, Zurbarán is major exponent.
