At this very moment, we're here to offer a series of ideas and tips to promote European crafts, which compete globally with Moroccan and Chinese manufacturing, among other major players.

First, a couple of key ideas: that the manufactured objects be utilitarian and affordably priced. In other words, the primary purpose of these crafts should be their own utility, not just for display in a particular home or hotel, but for them to actually be used. To achieve this, we must have moderate prices that reflect this intended use for these crafts.

Second: adapt manufacturing processes to modern times so that, while the objects produced remain classified as crafts, they incorporate technological advancements that don't compromise the quality of the final product.

Third: promote crafts as something interesting and important. For example, draw an analogy between synthetic clothing and clothing made from natural fibers (like cotton); In other words, you enjoy eating from a handcrafted plate more than from one that isn't; the food tastes better (ha ha).

As examples, we'd like to highlight the contemporary ceramics of Puente del Arzobispo and Talavera de la Reina, the recently renovated factory in La Cartuja de Sevilla, and, looking further south, Albayzín Cerámica in Granada.
