The passion for crafts and ceramics in Portugal is alive and well, and there are many fairs offering these types of products throughout the country

The Portuguese people, in keeping with their traditions, have a strong commitment to handcrafted ceramics, as evidenced by the numerous locations throughout the country where pottery and other crafts are traded—almost spontaneously—at various fairs.
Interest in Portuguese ceramics dates back a long time. For example, there is the Vista Alegre porcelain factory, founded in 1824 in Portugal by José Ferreira Pinto Basto. This company is still operating and its finances are healthy today.
In addition, there are several other trade centers related to ceramics and crafts, which we will mention below.
The "Feira da Luz" (Fair of Light), in Lisbon, offers trade activities for ceramics and other crafts as part of its various events. This fair usually takes place every September in Carnide, a district of Lisbon.
We also have, in Évora, the "Feira de São João" (Saint John's Fair), a centuries-old event held every summer that includes the sale of ceramics and other handicrafts.
In Elvas, the "Feira de São Mateus" (Saint Matthew's Fair, also known as the Pottery Fair), is an event that takes place every September and, as its name suggests, features the sale of ceramics and earthenware.
Finally, we should mention the "Feira da Praia" (Beach Fair), in Vila Real de Santo António, in the Portuguese Algarve, which is held every year in early October and also has a good selection of earthenware and other handcrafted items.
Therefore, after exploring the ceramic activities in neighboring Portugal, we can confirm firsthand that crafts and ceramics are thriving in that country.
