YouTube is reportedly penalizing or removing AI-generated videos

As this outlet has learned—and as reported by various other media sources worldwide—the user-generated video platform YouTube is reportedly penalizing and/or removing low-quality AI-generated content.
This involves two categories of action: first, the penalization of videos. The algorithm will display automatically generated videos—whether fully or partially created by AI—less frequently on the platform. Second, certain categories of these videos will no longer be eligible for monetization on the platform.
Furthermore, YouTube has reportedly begun removing accounts and videos that had amassed thousands of views with low-quality content—primarily sequences of still images accompanied by a synthetically generated voiceover, though not limited to that format.
Consequently, in an effort to maintain engagement across the platform, ensure proper usage, and keep content relevant to viewers, YouTube has implemented these measures; they align with the removal of automatically generated content that serves merely as "noise" on the internet at large.
