The singer Madonna, also known as the queen of pop, has released her expected new album, Madame X, which brings together 15 songs with various collaborations among which highlights the one with reguetonero Maluma.

Well, after being made available to the public on various streaming music platforms on the internet, the album has transcended the public without much ado and it seems that, along with other recent works of the artist, will pass on tiptoe through the music history.

This is due to several factors, the main one that the songs are a kind of pastiche, collage without much coherence between them but mainly because none of them has enough strength or soul or duende to make us vibrate with it. The turn towards reguetón with the collaboration of Maluma, that appears to us more than as a gesture, as a claudication before this musical genre, floods this album with all the bad of reguetón mentioned and nothing of the good of it (if it has something). So to speak, the songs sound repetitive, cloying, and lacking in charisma, as reggaeton itself has accustomed us, with that disposable music, that unmemorable and monotonous humming characteristic of this musical style.

Far away are the successes of Madonna alone, co-created by herself, as Like a prayer or La isla bonita, to mention a couple of them. However the wrapper of the disc comes very well dressed with a very good production and pictures.

On the other hand, Madonna, accustomed to selling millions of records, is suffering from the effects of the internet, which may be more fair or unfair in some aspects depending on how you look at it, since before to listen to the album you had to pay 15 dollars and own it; Now you can listen to a couple of songs on Spotify paying the label (which in turn will pay the artist) $ 0.007 per song played. Therefore, if the song becomes unpopular, that is to say, if the song is not often played, the artist risks to charge 10% (standard fee paid by the label to the artist) of 0.007 dollars per listen.
