Nosferatu

"Nosferatu, a Symphony of Horror", or simply "Nosferatu", is a 1922 German horror film directed by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau, which delves into the classic vampire myth created by Bram Stoker, Dracula. The film is an unauthorized version of this novel, and was sued by Stoker's widow, so most copies of the film had to be "burned", although some survived and are the source of later restorations.

Regardless of the film's commercial becoming, which was not very successful at the time of its release due to the legal problems it had to face, for some time now, that is, on an artistic level, the film has become a classic of intertitled German expressionism, made back in the Roaring Twenties (in the interwar period), therefore it is of the same kind as the also German animated film The Adventures of Prince Achmed, by Lotte Reiniger, which is from 1926. The main actor who plays the vampire is spectacularly terrifying in the film and all this makes the film a timeless classic of the genre.

Given the importance of the film, various more modern adaptations of the picture are also being made, namely: the one from 1979 and the one from 2024.
