Ramayana
Hindu epic poem possibly coined by the Indian poet Valmiki in the 5th century BC, although the original date of publication is unknown for sure.
The Ramayana represents one of those works that have been in the tradition for a very long time and that are persistently mentioned and versioned throughout the ages in Indian culture. Therefore it takes on the character of an almost religious work, handed down by tradition to our time; a step before being the word properly attributed to the gods (although all this belongs to the domain of Hindu culture, which the writer does not know in its entirety or is a specialist in it).
Literarily, the Ramayana has everything an epic work needs to exist: oaths of kings, betrayals, exiles and a happy triumphal ending. All these condiments give this work a singular appeal, which allows, as we have already commented, that through the centuries the work continues with the same validity as always.
