The sound of music

A 1965 musical film starring Julie Andrews, among others, and directed by Robert Wise; It tells the story of a former nun who takes on the responsibility of raising the children of a widowed officer. It is one of the great musicals of the 20th century, winning five Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

On one hand, we have the drama of the film, partially based on a true story, set against the historical backdrop of pre-World War II Austria, where this family tries to escape the Nazi movement and seek freedom, in a very accurate portrayal of the atmosphere in Europe at that time.

On the other hand, we have the musical marvel of the soundtrack, composed and written by the duo Rodgers and Hammerstein, featuring some of the most significant cinematic soundscapes of the 20th century; beautifully performed by the aforementioned Julie Andrews, who orchestrates and shapes the film's musical score.

So much so, that the film transcends cinema, and several of its musical passages are currently used by many people around the world to begin their musical journey, specifically one of them, the track known as "Do-Re-Mi."

Therefore, this is a film that shines brightly in the firmament of celebrated and distinguished films from mid-20th-century Hollywood.
