Daga bailaora

Daga Bailaora is a fictional character created in 2021 by Pedro Alonso Pablos and established through an animated short film released that same year.

Essentially, she is a flamenco heroine, a dancer, with extensive knowledge of dance and the use of bladed weapons, who confronts the powerful and helps the oppressed, in a new, in this case female, manifestation of the mythical, classic, and timeless literary archetype (the benefactor who opposes the ruling class to help the disadvantaged).

It wasn't until 2026 that Pedro, her creator (and the author of these lines), had enough time to finish the first animated feature film dedicated to her, definitively cementing the myth of this dancer with this musical adventure film.

Through this character, flamenco as an art form expands its influence into the realm of commercial literature and film.
