Gérôme

Gérôme
He acquired in Paris, where he studied (at the Julian Academy), during his youth, an absolutely enviable mastery of the oil technique and he was able, throughout his career, to demonstrate it; In fact, he mastered the "academic" realist style expertly and both the human figures and the scenes and/or animals were represented accurately and in an airy manner.
But not only this; His themes are very clear and interesting: historical, orientalist, conceptual, mythological, etc., having left a good number of works so his style and art in general can be appreciated in detail and thoroughness today.
He lived with the impressionist style - without belonging to said artistic movement - and, although impressionism was the vibrant and dazzling theme of the time, Gérôme knew how, from his sphere of action (the aforementioned academicism), to leave behind a great work that was appreciated by his contemporaries and that we also currently appreciate very much.
