Joe Hisaishi

Mamoru Fujisawa, also known as Hisaishi Jo (1950-) is the composer and music director of most of Studio Ghibli's classic films. Friend and companion of Hayao Miyazaki's animated ramblings, he signs the soundtrack of almost all his films.

His style is a peculiar mix between the Japanese / Asian feeling, which gives his sound an impressionistic point, while mixing strong melodies (not many, just some), more typical of Western taste. As a whole and for its volume and quality of compositions it is fair to mention him and enjoy his music.
