Metamorphoses
Compartmentalized poem written by Ovid and published in A.D. 8. which describes the various Greco-Roman myths in an accurate and authentic way. It is a compendium of the same ones where the best known appear, such as that of Narcissus and Echo, Apollo and Daphne, The Abduction of Proserpine, and a long etcetera, managing to coin them for eternity as never before -or after- was done. It also includes a cosmogony and many exploits of various characters up to Caesar.
