The importance of the music video in cinematographic language

Today we come to highlight - and remember - the classic music videos of the 90s, yes, those short films that served to help spread the music they contained back in those days when MTV ruled the music television scene.
Well, this audiovisual language used in these short videos, closely linked to their own music, is what in the long term sets the tone for subsequent cinematographic development, as we will now see.
First of all we must mention Michael Jackson and his marvelous music videos that transcended the mere audiovisual short to become cinematographic works with their own style.
During those times there were a series of bands that benefited from the audiovisual framework of MTV, mainly bands from the English music spectrum: Nirvana or Dire Straits are examples of this.
Although somewhat earlier in time, we can highlight that in the neighboring world of pure and simple cinematography, the Star Wars saga, which is iconic in the world of cinema as we say, takes advantage of and drinks from the excellent music of John Williams to create that imaginary in the minds of all of us who enjoy it.
Subsequently, we appreciate that the language of the music video is incorporated into cinema and we mention examples such as Quentin Tarantino's film Pulp Fiction.
The writer, Pedro Alonso Pablos, already in the 21st century, also declares that his animated feature films rely on all this audiovisual language and that, as an illustrative and humorous way, one could say that his films are "a music video that lasts longer than of 60 minutes".
And the complete cinematic experience is obviously only achieved with a good audio layer, but within the audio, with a good soundtrack. I don't mean to say that there aren't good movies without -a lot- of music; Simply, when there is, things go much better, as can be seen with the examples mentioned, hence the importance, as we said, of the music video for audiovisual language as a whole.
