The series, as comic book fans already know, is produced and directed by Pedro Alonso Pablos, and uses the very same panels from Guillermo Sánchez Boix's (Boixcar) comic book. These panels, as in the first season, have been cropped and smoothly animated to create the effect of movement on the television screen.
This series, it goes without saying, was one of the few works of 20th-century European, Spanish, and Catalan comics that could be gleaned and, through the aforementioned process, brought to animation. It is a work that transcends its time mainly for two reasons: historical and literary.
Regarding the historical aspect, we can note that the first chapter of the comic was published three years after the end of the Second World War, in 1948; Therefore, and adding to this the fact that Guillermo Sánchez Boix himself participated in the Spanish Civil War not many years earlier (as is known from the author's own biography—brief, by the way), they provide this series with a document that faithfully reflects what could have happened in that aforementioned world war, with meticulous documentation by Boixcar, who in this regard did an excellent job (and was well rewarded with the immediate success of the publication).
In the literary section (remember, great works always have these two components, the historical and the literary, or if not, look at Arabian Nights, for example), Boixcar's inventiveness in setting the scene and giving a human and dramatic meaning to all those stories of anonymous heroes of the Second World War is evident.
For these two reasons mainly, and because the second season premieres today on Filmin, as we have said, the animated work is taking shape and positioning itself as an audiovisual document that is impossible to ignore.
