Goya

Francisco José de Goya y Lucientes (1746-1828) was a Spanish painter. With a wide career and work, he portrayed the most select of the Spanish society of his time, including portraits of the Duchess of Alba, of the royal family of Carlos IV or Fernando VII. But perhaps his most interesting work, since the finish of his oils is diverse, are the cardboard for customary tapestries that he made for the Royal Tapestry factory, these were paintings that would later be used to finish said tapestries; and his engravings, including his three most famous series: The Disasters of War, Los Caprichos and Tauromaquia, with a very modern vision of painting or engraving in this case, and in this way also portraying things that are not so beautiful, or the duller side of life.
