A good recipe to please everyone as an artist

Today we are going to touch on a topic that is a little help, a little clue that the writer, yes, the editor of this magazine and film producer, Pedro Alonso Pablos, is giving to new directors, remember Pedro already has a decent number of feature films behind him; it is a "little" trick to "please everyone" as an artist.

In short, I am not going to dwell on this matter and we are going to get straight to the point. The first thing an artist must do to please "everyone" is to get approximately 80% of the world's population to like him; this is achieved in a very simple way (ha, ha); it is about touching on topics with a certain elevation and treated from a point of view of hope, we already know that if we become depressed we all end up in the ditch and this is not the main path. So, you have to be careful with the content you publish and try to make sure that most of it is a little forward-thinking and all that.

But, and here comes the fun part of this question, what happens to that 20% of the population that won't like your stuff because they are either depressed by nature or they are your enemy, artistic competitor, and things like that? How do you please that 20% of the population that you were never, and we repeat, never, going to like in the beginning?

Well, it's very easy; you simply have to do things so well that in the end you manage to "shut them up" and somehow force that 20% to "sketch a forced smile", very much like what happens in a scene from Tim Burton's Corpse Bride (as seen in the image accompanying this article), and "voilà"! This is the way to please everyone, ha, ha, ha.
