The Spiderman movie currently in theaters, subtitled "Brand New Day," has been a smash hit at the global box office, grossing record numbers and surpassing the success of Christopher Nolan's adaptation of The Odyssey, which premiered earlier this summer.

The film, distributed by Sony Pictures, has already grossed over $1.7 billion worldwide, a truly remarkable figure. The movie was released approximately 15 days ago.

This easily surpasses Christopher Nolan's summer offering, his adaptation of The Odyssey, which now ranks second in this year's summer box office earnings.

Another noteworthy detail, besides the box office figures, is that both films star Tom Holland (who plays Peter Parker in Spiderman) and Zendaya. And it seems this "power couple" is enjoying global cinematic success, since, as we've mentioned, they're part of the cast of two worldwide blockbusters.

Stan Lee (the creator of Spiderman) will be sporting a broad smile wherever he is.
